Breakdown Service

In case you are reporting a gas leakage, please provide:

• the first and last name of the person calling
• the caller´s address and telephone number
• the most accurate possible description of where the breakdown occurred
• type of breakdown (gas leakage, failure in the gas supply, damaged gas meter etc.)

You can report breakdowns of gas equipment and supplies preferentially by calling 1239, which is serviced by the RWE control office 24 hours a day.

• the telephone number for reporting a breakdown is 1239 and it is valid in the entire Czech Republic
• this number should be dialled with no prefix, just like the emergency number of the fire department, ambulance or the police, from any telephone in the public telephone network, from a land line or mobile phone
• the person reporting the breakdown is charged for a local call
• all calls to this number are recorded

You can report the following types of breakdowns at telephone number 1239:

• breakdown in the supply of natural gas at the point of consumption
• all natural gas leakages
• breakdowns and failures of gas equipment owned or used by RWE – all equipment except internal installations: gas lines, service and installation piping, pressure regulating stations, cathodic protection stations etc.
• gas-meter failures 

Important notice:

The RWE Breakdown Service only attends to failures in the supply of natural gas, breakdowns of the equipment operated by RWE and general emergency situations in connection with the operation of the gas network.

The Breakdown Service attends to breakdowns of gas appliances and installation pipework only in order to prevent further breakdowns by closing the service valve. The Breakdown Service does not attend to repairs and maintenance of the internal installations.
