RWE terminates talks with Gazprom

RWE and Gazprom today decided by mutual agreement to terminate at the end of the year their exclusive talks on a potential joint venture for the construction and operation of power stations in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. more

RWE Transgas offers Czech storage capacity for 2012/2013

RWE Transgas is offering 100 mcm of physical storage capacity in the Czech Republic for a period of 12 months in 2012/2013. The bundled storage capacity is split into five lots, each with 20 million cubic metres of working gas volume and will be offered on the exchange platform store-x in a reverse auction on 24 January 2012. more

Natural Gas Prices Slightly Lower from January

The change in regulated price of natural gas distribution for 2012 announced by the Energy Regulatory Office will press down the end prices of natural gas supplied by RWE. more

Weaker crown will bring RWE’s natural gas price up

As of 1 November 2011, final natural gas prices for RWE household customers will be 5.2 per cent up in average. The increase is due to dramatic weakening of the crown against the American dollar. Over the last month, the Czech currency fell one crown and fifty hellers against the dollar.  more

RWE and Gazprom agree on Memorandum of Understanding

Alexey Miller, CEO of Gazprom, and Jürgen Großmann, CEO of RWE, today in Rome signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic partnership in power generation in Western Europe. It also confirms the companies' intentions to bring the ongoing commercial negotiations to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. more

Gas connection now online at RWE

The distribution companies of RWE group have launched a unique application on their internet pages allowing small-scale and household customers to put in a request the connection to the distribution system electronically. The necessity for citizens and small businesses residing in the distribution area of RWE GasNet, JMP Net, VČP Net and SMP Net to visit their customer centres in person or send request for connection by mail is thus minimised. more

RWE commissions world's largest green wood pellet factory in the US state of Georgia

RWE Innogy commissioned the world's largest plant for the production of pellets from green wood in the US state of Georgia. The wood pellets produced in this plant will be shipped from Georgia to Europe as of this summer. They will be used in existing hard coal-fired power plants of RWE for the generation of electricity and heat. By replacing fossil fuels with biomass, RWE will save around 1 million tons of CO2 per year. The annual production capacity of the plant in Georgia totals 750,000 tons of wood pellets. With the commissioning of the pellet plant, RWE is implementing its integrated biomass strategy across all stages of the value chain from procurement and production of the primary feedstock through to the generation of energy. more

Staythorpe Power Station Officially Opened

Dr Jürgen Grossmann, Chief Executive Officer, RWE AG and Charles Hendry MP, Minister of State, Department of Energy and Climate Change opened the new Staythorpe Power Station at an event at the site on Monday 9 May 2011. Almost 200 people attended the event, many of whom had been directly involved in the planning, construction and operation of the new 1,650MW combined cycle gas turbine power station. more

Expensive Oil Raises the Price of Gas from RWE by 9.5 %

For RWE household customers the final price of natural gas will increase by 9.5 percent since June 1, 2011. This increase in in particular due to the dramatic increase in the price of oil during the last six months. The strong Czech crown has only been able to mitigate the impacts of expensive oil. more

FIRST CITROËN C-ZÉRO CARS IN CZECH REPUBLIC PRESENTED TO RWE

The ceremonial handing over of the first two Citroën C-Zéro cars in the Czech Republic took place at the headquarters of RWE Transgas on Thursday, 28 April 2011, when the general director of Citroën in the CR, Frédéric Passemard, presented the keys of the electric cars to Martin Herrmann, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO, RWE Transgas. more
